| The Shores of the Highlands |
| The Sea
The coasts of the Highlands consist mostly of steep cliffs protruding to the wide expanse of deep blue sea. There are only a few good sandy beaches where one can come ashore easily. The sea around the Highlands is usually stormy or ominously calm, and mist tends to hang quietly at the very surface of the sea. And beware - there may be monsters beneath the waves.

| Beacon Isle
The island is located to the northeast of the Highlands, and is not easily accessable due to the large amount of choppy ocean between the two islands. The Island itself is small, and the land is inhospitable. It is almost constantly buffeted by the ocean and powerful winds. The only shelter on the island is a tall lighthouse, currently abandoned.

| Heathervale Bay
The Heathervale Bay encompasses the bay itself, the Lookout Isle and the Heathervale docks. The Heathervale Harbour docks are a busy place. There are nearly always ponies running this way and that, unloading or uploading cargo or setting sail on the small fishing boats.

This is the eastern side of Heathervale Harbour, where the traders and other respectable ponies live. Here are located such important sites as the Heather and the Mist Inn and the Heathervale Theatre and the market, which is not only the central spot of trading in the Heathervale Harbour, it is also the town square.

The single forest in Highlands is located on the Black Fire moors and it is called the Forest of Calm for it is said to be always tranquil. Mists respect this forest and circle round it, so it is a safe place for any traveller to camp. It is considered sacred ground and for that reason no ponies actually live there.
